This is also true with other cosmetic dentistry procedures, such as traditional veneers, bonding, and aligners.
Could I use snap-on veneers to align my teeth?
No. If your snap-on veneers place enough pressure on the teeth to move them, they don’t fit correctly. These veneers should cover gaps and crowding but not actually move the teeth.
Will I have a lisp while wearing snap-on veneers?
You might, but it isn’t a guarantee. While common, some people adjust automatically. If you have worn aligners or retainers in the past, you might find that your tongue is already prepped for the presence of snap-on veneers.
How long should I expect my snap-on veneers to last?
There is no set lifespan for snap-on veneers. Different companies and the models they offer will have different ranges. Generally speaking, premium versions last longer than those for occasional wear. Also, the better you care for them, the longer they should last.
Are Brighter Image Lab veneers the same as the DIY ones I see advertised online?
No, they are very different. DIY snap-on veneers have more in common with mouthguards than they do with products from Brighter Image Lab. They’re not customized products, relying instead on the boil and bite method, meaning you get them hot, bite into them, then let them cool so the backs form to the shape of your teeth. Some people have had their teeth get stuck in these and broke them trying to get the DIY veneers off. We do not advise using these products.
Is there an in-office option for snap-on veneers?
Yes, there is a company called Snap-On Smile. They make removable veneers that are customized by both the company and your dentist. Just remember that you must purchase these through a doctor. There are DIY products also called Snap-On Smile, but these aren’t the same thing.
